The Open Network
The Open Network (TON) is a decentralized blockchain that aims to unite all existing blockchains into a single network and transform the TON ecosystem into Web 3.0.
Key features
- High Throughput and Scalability: TON uses a unique consensus mechanism and architecture designed to handle millions of transactions per second. It achieves this through sharding (splitting the blockchain into smaller, manageable parts) and multi-threading (processing multiple transactions simultaneously).
- Fast Transactions: With the ability to confirm transactions in seconds, TON is designed for real-time payments and microtransactions.
- Low Fees: TON’s architecture allows for low transaction fees, making it ideal for everyday use and micropayments.
- Smart Contracts: TON supports smart contracts, enabling the development of decentralized applications (DApps) and services on the network.

GRAM
GRAM is the native cryptocurrency of the TON network, used to pay transaction fees and execute smart contracts.
Previously known as Toncoin, the cryptocurrency was renamed to GRAM following a proposal by Telegram and the TON community to restore its original historical name. As a result of a community vote held between June 1 and June 8, 2026, the rename was approved, and the coin officially became GRAM.
The rebranding took effect on June 15, 2026, and only affected the token's name, ticker, and logo. For more information about the rebranding and the voting results, please refer to the official TON Telegram channel: https://t.me/toncoin
