What is a seed phrase?

The seed phrase, also known as the secret key or recovery phrase, is the login to your wallet, consisting of 24 words. It is important to carefully record it in the exact order it was generated and securely store it. Please be aware that the seed phrase is the only way to access your wallet and assets, and it cannot be recovered if lost.

📌 Never share your seed phrase with anyone. It's called "secret" for a reason.

How to restore the seed phrase?

If you did not save the seed phrase immediately after creating the wallet or lost it later, it will not be possible to recover the seed phrase. The 24 secret words are known only to the wallet owner, and unfortunately, access to the wallet cannot be restored without them.

Tonkeeper does not store seed phrases and does not have access to users' wallets, so it cannot assist in recovering the seed phrase. Other methods, such as a phone number or email address, are not used for wallet access.

Can the seed phrase be changed?

It is important to remember that the seed phrase cannot be changed. If you happen to disclose your seed phrase to a third party and they gain unauthorized access to your assets, you should immediately create a new wallet with a new seed phrase and transfer the remaining funds to it.

Why is a word repeated in my seed phrase?

It is normal for words in a seed phrase to be repeated, and this is not an error. The secret key is generated randomly from a fixed set of words, so the same word may appear more than once. This doesn't affect the security of your wallet, and you don't need to worry.
