What is a seed phrase?

The seed phrase, also known as the secret key or recovery phrase, is the login to your wallet, consisting of 24 words. It is important to carefully record it in the exact order it was generated and securely store it. Please be aware that the seed phrase is the only way to access your wallet and assets, and it cannot be recovered if lost.

📌 Never share your seed phrase with anyone. It's called "secret" for a reason.

Can the Tonkeeper team help recover a seed phrase?

The 24 secret words are known only to the wallet owner; the Tonkeeper team doesn't have access to users' secret keys.

Unfortunately, if you haven't saved or lost them, you won't be able to access the wallet. Other authentication methods, such as a phone number or email address, are not used.

Can the seed phrase be changed?

It is important to remember that the seed phrase cannot be changed. If you happen to disclose your seed phrase to a third party and they gain unauthorized access to your assets, you should immediately create a new wallet with a new seed phrase and transfer the remaining funds to it.

Why one word is found two times in the seed phrase?

The words in the seed phrase can be repeated, and this is not an error. The secret key is generated randomly from a specific set of words, so it's natural to have the same word appear more than once, and there's nothing to worry about.
