Wallet Standards in TON

Why are there different wallet standarts?

Every wallet in the TON blockchain is a smart contract. As the blockchain evolved, it became necessary to adapt smart contracts to meet the ecosystem’s new needs. This is why multiple wallet standards exist, ranging from V1 to V5 (W5). More details about each version can be found in the TON blockchain documentation.

How to access all wallet standards in Tonkeeper?

By default, all new wallets in Tonkeeper are created using the latest standard—W5. If you need access to previous versions, you can use the desktop or web version of Tonkeeper. Go to Settings > Active address and add the versions you need.

On the mobile version of Tonkeeper, only the V4R2 standard is available. To access it, go to Settings > Wallet V4R2.
