How to secure Tonkeeper?

We recommend following a set of rules to ensure the security of your wallet and the safety of your balance:

  • Keep your secret phrase offline.

Never store it in cloud storage, messengers, screenshots, or notes on your phone — these storage methods can be easily compromised. The safest way is to write down all 24 words on paper and keep it in a secure place.

  • Never share your secret phrase.

It’s called "secret" for a reason — anyone who gains access to it can fully control your wallet.

  • Protect your device from malware.

Avoid public Wi-Fi networks, do not click on suspicious links, do not download files from unverified sources, and use antivirus software. Remember, your secret key is stored locally on your device, so wallet security largely depends on you.

  • Set up a PIN code.

This prevents unauthorized access to your wallet if someone gets access to your phone or computer. You can set a PIN in Settings > Security > Screen Lock.

  • Verify websites and Telegram bots before connecting your wallet.

Do not connect your wallet to unknown apps or websites. Always double-check the platform before linking your wallet.

  • Check transaction details before confirming.

Don’t rush to sign a transaction; always check which asset (token/NFT) and the amount that will be deducted from your wallet.

  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in Tonkeeper Pro.

2FA greatly reduces the risk of unauthorized withdrawals, even if your secret phrase is compromised, since any transaction will require confirmation through your Telegram account.

  • Enhance Tonkeeper security with Signer.

Signer is a Tonkeeper app that securely approves transactions while keeping your private keys offline and protected. For users holding large amounts of TON, or anyone looking to maximize security, Tonkeeper Signer offers the protection of a cold wallet without the high cost.
