What does the 'Unverified' label mean on tokens and NFTs?
The labels 'Unverified Token' and 'Unverified NFT' are assigned to tokens or NFT collections that haven’t been verified and may indicate the following:
- We don’t know much about the creator of the token or NFT collection yet.
- Tokens or NFT may be used for spam — for example, sent out in bulk to random addresses.
- Tokens or NFT may be used for scams — their name, image, or description is misleading or imitates another token or NFT collection.
- The token has low liquidity. It might have some value, but it’s extremely small.
- The token isn’t listed on trading platforms like STON.fi or DeDust.
The 'Unverified' label doesn’t prevent you from interacting with the token or NFT — it’s just a visual warning to help you stay cautious.
How to remove the 'Unverified' label?
Only the creator of the token or NFT collection can remove this label. There are a few options:
- Get the token listed on a DEX, such as STON.fi or DeDust.
- Submit a verification request. You can find more details here.
